Fears

Update to “If”, with apologies to Rudyard Kipling….

““If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs”….

you may not understand the situation.

There are rational fears to consider as we face TechTonic Change. I’ve personally heard these from educators in my presentation sessions…that changes may:

  • prevent teachers from bringing their own experience and methods to their teaching
  • lead to more score-accountability (ex: publishing student scores by teacher)
  • further limit educators from supporting learning connections with the “real world”
  • verify our fears that “as teachers, we’re afraid we won’t be able to learn it”
